Since 2 July 2023, the legislator has obliged all companies with 50 or more employees to set up internal reporting offices under the Act for Better Protection of Whistleblowers (Whistleblower Protection Act – HinSchG). Through these, information on actual or potential legal violations or breaches of compliance can be reported. Violations can entail considerable legal and financial risks for a company.
